Abakaliki, ebonyi state -The ebonyi state government has launched an empowerment program at reducing unemployment and promoting entrepreneurship among women’s and youth in the state. The program, dubbed “Empower ebonyi ” is a comprehensive initiative designed to equip beneficiaries with the skill, knowledge, and resources needed to succeed in their chosen field.
Under the program, women and youth will receive training in areas such as Agriculture, fashion design, technology and entrepreneurship among others. The training will be provided by experienced professionals and will include both the retinal and practical components.
In addition to training, the government has also set aside a #1 billion fund to provide loans and grants to beneficiaries to support their business ventures. The loans will be provided at a single-digit interest rate, while the grants will be given to beneficiaries who demonstrate exceptional business ideas and potential. The government has also partnered with private sector organisations to provide mentorship and support to beneficiaries grow their business and achieve success.
The “Empower Ebonyi” Program is expected to benefit over 5,000 women and youth in its first year, with plans to expand to more beneficiaries in subsequent years. The government has called on eligible residents to apply for the program, promising that it selection process.
