Yes very possible, as this was seen in CODEFEST Academy just concluded Boot Camp and Exposition.
CODEFEST is a Tech Academy that, trains people who want to be ICT inclined, she is not limited to training individuals, she also provides training for organizations, who wants to train their personnels , both private and government sectors, CODEFEST wants not just to train adults but children too, and by so doing, she will be training generations of tech gurus, and this made her run and annual summer boot camp for children ages 7 and above. This has ran for few years and this year was not an exception,after the successful training, a graduation ceremony / exposition was held. This programe was held on Saturday 17th August 2024, at the Academy’s arena CODEFEST International Academy,Silicon Valley, Centenary City Abakaliki Ebonyi state.
The exposition themed : The Future Of Education, was graced by dignitaries , as well as the students , and their parents and guardians. The programe started,by 12noon , with the introduction of dignitaries and members of the high table by the master of Ceremony Mrs Joy, A CODEFEST STAFF, the dignitaries were as fellows in no particular order.
The Honourable Commissioner for I.C.T, Ebonyi state Comr Uzoh Toochukwu Okorie, who was ably represented by his Special Assistant, Mr Ugochukwu John Obinna, The chairman of the occasion Rt Rev. (Dr.) Edward Obumneme Joseph JP , General Overseer Freedom Chariot Church International and National President Christain Penticostal Fellowship Of Nigeria / Pentecostal Followship Of Nigeria Youth Wing, Prof. U. A Osisiogu General Overseer Open Family Church, Hajia Hamzat, Wife of the Chief Imam Abakaliki, and other distinguished guest.
Every guest who spoke, stressed on the future of education of the younger generation, in relevance to technology anf it gradual but swift take over, technology is the NOW!.
In an Exclusive interview with the Representative of the Commissioner for ICT, Mr Ugochukwu John Obinna (S.A To the Commissioner), he stated that the Conventional educational system in Nigeria, can not take care of the contemplary technological needs of the society, hence the need to make ICT training, the bed rock of the modern educational system, that is based on creativity and innovation.
He appreciated CODEFEST Academy, for puting together a summer boot camp, for children in the spirit of catching them young, he further adviced the parents to avail their children for such trainings.
In Another Exclusive Interview with the chairman of the occasion, Rt Rev, (Dr.) Edward Obumneme Joesph Jp, who also had his children participated in the summer boot camp, in his words, he stated that.
1. The CODEFEST Boot Camp is a transformer,it is an invent,that can be best described as a mindset resetter for all the participants
2. This unique ICT training, recalibrated the mental faculty of the children, teens and youths, who participated.
It was fun, enjoyable, participatory, engaging, creative and novel.
3. It brought out the best in the trainees, in the content creation, in development of applications, in creation of Games, in packaging unique products via creation of websites and engagement of multi –dimensional opportunities that the social media affords.
4. It gave ample opportunity for children to do what they love doing, but adding value and making impact.
5. The boot camp fostered partnership, co operation and collaboration among participant, team building and working for a common goal was at the front burner.
In conclusion he said this year’s boot camp, showcased what the Government of Ebonyi state can offer to the world, through her children, teenagers and youth, this offer he said is rich and rare and the state Governor and his ministry of ICT deserve special Commendation for this boot camp.
