My foundation, Better Health for Rural Women Children and Internally Displaced Persons, BERWO, in collaboration with the state’s ministry of ICT, has organised a three (3) Months Digital Skill Acquisition Scheme with kits featuring Front end development design, hardware maintenance /networking, graphic design, video editing and content creation.

As the First Lady of Ebonyi State, I remain committed to empowering our young people with effective skills necessary to lead a successful and fulfilling life in this present time and age.
Empowering our teeming youths with basic and practical life skills, especially in technical and digital literacy, is key to our development as a people. Practical life skills are essential for you, our youths, to navigate the numerous challenges of everyday life, make informed decisions, and become productive citizens as well as compete favorably with your counterparts all over the world. These necessary skills erase any social stigma associated with computer illiteracy in a digital world like ours today.

These skills include information communication technology, problem-solving, critical thinking, and financial literacy, among others. Digitization of Ebonyi youths is inevitable today as we recognize the importance of equipping you with these skills to enhance your employability, entrepreneurship, overall well-being, as well as curbing the menace of youth restiveness in the society. Our goal is to produce responsible, independent, and innovative individuals who will drive progress and development in Ebonyi State.

Furthermore, social connectivity, networking, social media and professional networks allow youths to connect with peers, mentors, and industry professionals, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration as well as community engagement, using Digital platforms to enable youths engage in community development projects, social causes, and political activism – fostering a more informed and active citizenry.

I deeply appreciate very greatly, my darling husband, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, Governor, Ebonyi State, for his huge commitment to empowering our youths and working hard to make Ebonyi State greater. I also thank the State Ministry of ICT, led by the Commissioner, Comrade Uzor Toochukwu Okorie, for his dedication to this course.
Finally, I urge our youths to embrace this initiative and take advantage of this opportunity to work together with Government and build a future where our youths are empowered to reach their full potentials and contribute positively to our society.
