Ebonyi State Engages Expatriate Investors for Cutting-Edge Made-in-Ebonyi Vehicle Plant Project
The Ebonyi State Government has said that it would partner with the Orion Armoured Group to construct the first Made in Ebonyi Vehicle Assembly Plant as part of its effort to drive its People’s Charter of Needs Agenda.
The state Commissioner for Trade and Investment, Chief Elechi Elechi made this known during an interactive meeting between the ministry and the representatives of Orion Armoured Group, an expertrate company based in United States of America, to chat a course for the establishing of an indigenous Automobile Company in the state, held in his office at Ochudo Centenary City, Abakaliki.
Chief Elechi applauded the company for its commitment to investing in the state, with the intention to assist Ebonyi State government float this first ever Ebonyi Car Factory, saying that the vision when actualized would stimulate economic activities in the state, reduce unemployment among the teeming unemployed youths and impact positively on Ebonyi economy.
Commissioner Elechi noted that the outcome of the meeting would be communicated to the Governor of Ebonyi State, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru for necessary actions.
Earlier the Chief Executive Officer of the company, Engr. Romeo stated that his company intends to assist Ebonyi State Government establish an indigenous Automobile Company that will produce high quality cars with Ebonyi name as brand name that can be marketed anywhere in the world.
Engr Romeo added that aside production of bullet proof doors, windows, banking accessories and roofing materials, most of the the cars would be bullet proof and durable, and good for Nigerian roads and climate.
The CEO of the company stated that the new company would be fully establish within six months, and that his technicians would handle the operations of the company for ten years before leaving it in the hands of local technicians that the expertrate company would train during the factory construction.
The leader of the team noted that they have already shown serious commitments by procuring over 17 hectres of land in Ebonyi for the project, waiting for Ebonyi State government to give it a nod for full commencement.
He said the business would provide a big market within Nigeria and the entire continents of the world and enrich the state.
He said that he was determined to accomplish this vision as legacy he would leave in Africa.
A Nigerian who deals on Automobile products and a co- partner to Orion Armoured Group, Mr. Anthony Mike confirmed that Orion Armoured Group have the capacity and genuine Investment interest in the Ebonyi State with all the machineries to establish a viable automobile company in the state.
He added that the locally made cars would be tested in the expertrate company before use in Nigeria and other part of the would.
The meeting was well attended by the management staff and principal officers of the ministry of Trade and Investment, Abakaliki.
